Good afternoon Hillhurst Families

Welcome to June! The month of June always goes by very quickly in schools. There are so many things going on, and so much to celebrate before the year comes to a close. Hillhurst Grade 6s are writing Provincial Achievement tests this month, in English Language Arts and Literature, Mathematics, and Social Studies. Science PATs are not written this year as the curriculum is new. Provincial Achievement tests, in Grade 6, are written to gauge province-wide student achievement levels in relation to the curriculum. Individual student marks are provided to families for their information only and are not used to determine report card marks.

Here are some other important dates and events throughout June (please check the school calendar on our website for a complete list of important dates):

  • Please join us for the final School Council meeting of the school year on Wednesday June 18 at 6:30pm. You are welcome to attend at the school, or online.
  • Save the date for the Hillhurst Year End Family Picnic! It will take place on June 19 from 5pm - 7pm on the East Field.  The format will be similar to the picnic in the fall, with Food Trucks on site.
  • The Grade 6 Farewell is taking place on June 24 at 1:30pm. Grade 6 families, please watch for an email invitation with RSVP in the next few days.
  • The school-wide sports day will be happening on the morning of June 25, stay tuned for information forthcoming in the weekly updates from your child's homeroom teacher.
  • Report Cards will be available online via your MyCBE account as of June 25.
  • The last day of school for all students is Thursday, June 26 and it is a half day, with dismissal at 12:45pm

Over the course of the next week, please watch for additional important emails from me that will provide more in-depth information about:

  • Transportation
  • Building improvements occurring over the summer
  • Hillhurst 2025-26 Instructional Calendar and class lists
  • Library books
  • Additional year-end information as it arises.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support. Please know that if questions or concerns arise, just reach out to us at any time.

Sincerely,

Kristin and Shafali
